The summer transfer window was a hugely successful one for West Ham United, there’s no denying that.
Julen Lopetegui brought nine fantastic new players to West Ham, and managed to move on much of the deadwood.
Throughout the summer, we learned that West Ham now operate as a properly efficient club in the transfer window.
Lopetegui and Tim Steidten worked ruthlessly to get deals done for their top targets, including the likes of Jean-Clair Todibo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Crysencio Summerville, Max Kilman and Guido Rodriguez.
Then, on transfer deadline day, Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, James Ward-Prowse and Maxwel Cornet all left the club, albeit on loan deals.
However, the Hammers transfer team didn’t get rid of everyone they wanted to. Could that be set to change though?
West Ham player exit update with multiple transfer windows open
Whilst the transfer window in England, and many other top leagues, is closed, there are plenty that are still open for business.
The Hammers won’t be bringing in any more players until January 1st, but some could definitely still leave the London Stadium.

However, one man heavily liked with an exit could well now be set to stay at West Ham.
According to David Sullivan confidant Sean Whetstone, Danny Ings will not be leaving to join a club who play in a country where the transfer window is still open.
Nor will the Hammers terminate his contract by mutual consent – Ings is said to be very happy at the London Stadium.
It was previously suggested that Danny Ings could still leave West Ham to join a club in Holland, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Turkey or even Saudi Arabia.
That apparently won’t be the case now though.
What a complete waste of a signing the 32-year-old has been for West Ham – one akin to flushing £15 million straight down the drain.
It is little wonder that David Moyes was moved on earlier this summer after overseeing deals like that one.
Danny Ings worst West Ham signing in history
The 32-year-old has proven to be an atrocious signing by the Hammers, and it’s incredibly frustrating that we all saw it coming when Moyes brought him to the London Stadium.
The fact that the Scot agreed to pay £15 million to bring him to the club in January 2023 still baffles me.
Ings was never suited to the way that the Hammers play, especially under Moyes, and his legs have clearly given up on him at the very highest level.
He has scored just four goals for us since he swapped Villa Park for the London Stadium 19 months ago.
Getting him off the wage-bill should have been one of the Hammers’ main priorities in the summer, but the powers that be at the club were unsuccessful in doing just that.
Danny Ings clearly won’t be leaving West Ham before his contract expires in the summer of 2025, and all we can hope for is that he contributes for us at least once between now and then.
