Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim could really hurt West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

West Ham and Manchester United both need to significantly strengthen their ranks at the London Stadium and Old Trafford respectively this summer.

Graham Potter is said to be keen to move on numerous players, with a big squad revamp on the horizon at West Ham.

And the same can be said for Man United boss Ruben Amorim.

One area of concern for both managers is the centre-back department.

Big upgrades are required at West Ham and Manchester United.

And the Red Devils could be set to deal the Hammers a really big blow.

West Ham blow as Manchester United eye Koni De Winter deal

Koni De Winter is firmly on the radars of both the Hammers and the Red Devils ahead of the summer window it seems.

The West Ham have been heavily linked with a move to sign Koni De Winter for just £12 million recently.

However, Man United’s interest in the exceptionally gifted young Belgian will make our task of signing him a lot harder than it was before.

Tuttomercatoweb claim that Ruben Amorim wants to bring De Winter to Old Trafford this summer.

And there’s more bad news for the Hammers. The interest from Man United has seen Genoa ramp up their demands for the centre-back to around £25 million.

The Hammers clearly face an uphill battle if we are to bring the defender to the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham may have Koni De Winter secret weapon

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, De Winter possesses the physique needed to succeed as a central defender in the Premier League.

However, the beauty of him is that he is incredibly versatile, and can operate as a right full-back and in the defensive midfield role as well if need be.

The Genoa star would be a huge upgrade on Konstantinos Mavropanos, and he’d take us to a whole new level defensively.

Manchester United moving into position to sign Koni De Winter is obviously bad news for West Ham.

However, with Maxwel Cornet thriving on loan with Genoa, we may well be in a strong position to use him as a bargaining tool.

That said, Cornet has just picked up a thigh injury (shock), so it will all depend on whether or not he fully recovers.
