Another late West Ham transfer deal mooted on deadline day as Guardian journo makes new claim

West Ham United have agreed a loan deal with Crystal Palace for Maxwel Cornet, but we’ll need a deadline day deal incoming first before letting him go.

Maxwel Cornet has been a complete disaster for West Ham since joining us from Burnley in the summer of 2022, now it seems as though the club have agreed a deadline day deal to loan him out to Crystal Palace.

That’s according to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, who has claimed that Hammers boss David Moyes will only let the 27-year-old join the Eagles if a replacement is brought in first.

West Ham have already signed Kalvin Phillips this month, but the addition of a forward is much needed.

And it seems as though that could happen, with Cornet heading to the other side of London…

Another late West Ham transfer deal mooted on deadline day

Ed Aarons claims the Hammers have agreed a deal to send Cornet on loan to Palace.

Moyes won’t let the Ivorian leave the London Stadium though before he brings in a replacement.

The 27-year-old has barely been given any minutes this season, aside from his two starts in our last two games.

Despite his goal against Sheffield United, he looked painfully off the pace. So if we can move him on and bring in someone like Steven Bergwijn or Jack Clarke, then we’ll be in a much stronger position.

He will surely be keen to leave in order to get more regular action as well.

I’m really hoping for one more late deadline day deal at West Ham, and if Cornet does join Palace, it should be a big positive because it means someone will surely be brought in.
