Andy Carroll predicts whether West Ham will bounce straight back to the Premier League

Andy Carroll has just predicted whether West Ham will achieve promotion to the Premier League next season.

Carroll made over 140 appearances for the Hammers between 2012 and 2019 and remains attached to the club.

He also still lives in the area, as he is a player-assistant manager at National League South club Dagenham & Redbridge.

Carroll is optimistic that West Ham can bounce back immediately, even though the Championship is a difficult division.

Andy Carroll makes his prediction for West Ham’s Championship campaign

West Ham will be the favourites to win the Championship next season, given that they almost survived relegation from the Premier League.

However, they are expected to sell many of their best players, such as Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville.

It is by no means a foregone conclusion that West Ham will be promoted, but Carroll remains confident it will happen.

“Yeah, I do. Hopefully as well. I’m actually devastated by what happened,” the former England international told Ian Abrahams.

“Watching the game was frustrating, and watching, obviously, the last few games as well. It’s been disappointing, but yeah, I do believe that they’ll come straight back up.

The Hammers’ chances of competing for the Championship title may depend on keeping Jarrod Bowen this summer.

Bowen has been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and several other big clubs ahead of the transfer window.

However, if the 29-year-old decides to stay at the London Stadium, he could produce huge numbers in the second division.

Carroll is no different from every other West Ham supporter in wanting Bowen to stay for at least another season.

“Yeah, of course. You hope all the best players stay,” Carroll added. “You hope all the players stay, but it doesn’t work like that. We’re just going to have to see what happens, really.”
