Alan Pardew concerned about West Ham United’s fixtures despite recent momentum

West Ham United’s recent resurgence may not be enough to keep them in the Premier League this season, according to former manager Alan Pardew. 

The Hammers are currently one of the form teams in the Premier League. Over the last five games, they sit fourth in the table after amassing three wins during that period. 

Still, seasons are much longer than five games. West Ham United are still three points off safety in the Premier League table with only 12 games to go.

There is a chance that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have left it too late, although West Ham have previously avoided relegation in the final 12 games of the season. 

Still, Pardew is concerned about West Ham’s remaining fixture list. 

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “Let me tell you, I looked at West Ham’s fixtures today and I’m worried for West Ham still, even though they’ve had a great little pick up and they’ve got a great bit of momentum.”

West Ham United’s final games compared to Nottingham Forest’s 

Tottenham or Leeds could still be dragged into the relegation mire, but it currently looks like a battle between the Irons and Nottingham Forest. 

Forest currently sit 17^th in the Premier League table, one place and three points above Nuno’s side.

West Ham’s final ten games are listed here. It’s hard to see much difference between the two, frankly. Both teams have to play Liverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Hammers News understands that Nuno is targeting six more wins before the end of the season at West Ham. 

It’s believed that the West Ham head coach believes wins over Bournemouth (H), Fulham (H), Wolves (H), Crystal Palace (A), Everton (H) and Leeds (H) will be enough to keep his side in the Premier League.

Points from their other six games are believed to have been seen as a potential bonus, such as the point they picked up in the draw with Manchester United.

Should West Ham win those aforementioned six games without picking up another point, the Irons would finish on 42 points. 

Though the Hammers were infamously relegated with that points total back in 2003, 36 points have been enough to ensure survival over the past nine seasons.
