What the West Ham fans were chanting towards Tottenham after dramatic late win

A good week just got better for West Ham United as they recorded a crucial 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Tottenham.

Callum Wilson’s late goal handed West Ham all three points, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side building off their win over QPR in the FA Cup last weekend.

The Hammers impressed in the first half but by the time that Cristian Romero had levelled the scores with a header following a Micky van de Ven own goal, it had been coming.

Just as they did last week, Nuno’s side showed character to find something in the dying embers of the game to claw their way to a victory.

After watching West Ham’s 2-1 win over Tottenham, supporters in the away end were all too happy to remind their rivals.

West Ham fans mock Tottenham after late victory

There were chants of “Tottenham Hotspur, it’s happened again” from the away end as home supporters were streaming out of the stadium.

Clearly, it’s important not to get too carried away.

Callum Wilson at the death!

But who was your West Ham Man of the Match and why?

There is still an awful lot of football to be played and the gap to safety remains relatively significant. Spurs are in crisis, too.

Making a start on turning things around at the home of your big rivals, however, is something to be celebrated.

Putting one over Spurs fans is particularly sweet as well.

The biggest test is yet to come for West Ham United

It’s been a fine week for Nuno, who has not convinced during his time in charge of the Irons.

The biggest test, however, is yet to come.

It’s one thing beating QPR and a Tottenham side in crisis but playing an in-form Sunderland side next weekend is another matter entirely.

That is when supporters will see just how far this team has come. While not to be too negative too quickly, that game will offer far more of an accurate reflection.

Still, wins have been hard to come by this season, and they should be enjoyed as a result.

West Ham’s win over Tottenham at least gave the fans something to cheer about at last.
