Pablo Felipe begins life a West Ham United on the bench with Lucas Paqueta nowhere to be seen as Nuno Espirito Santo prepares to take on Premier League basement boys Wolves at 3pm.

All eyes were on West Ham United’s official social media channels when the clock struck 1.45pm.

After Pablo Felipe completed his £17.4 million transfer from Gil Vicente on Friday night, would the club’s new number 19 come straight into the starting XI?

Well, no.

Who needs to step up today with Paqueta and Todibo OUT?

And will this be a dream debut for supersub Pablo?

Pablo Felipe Pereira de Jesus of Gil Vicente warms up before the Liga Portugal Betclic match between Gil Vicente FC and FC Porto at Estadio Ciudad de Barcelos in Barcelos, Portugal, on January 19, 2025.

West Ham have signed an ‘extraordinary’ talent in the Braga-born 21-year-old, but Nuno has decided against throwing him in at the deep end in favour of the vastly experienced Callum Wilson.

There is no sign of Lucas Paqueta ahead of the afternoon kick-off at Molineux. The Brazil international is not even on the bench, missing alongside Jean-Clair Todibo after picking up a knock a few days ago.

Paqueta’s absence is down to an injury rather than any renewed speculation over the Brazil international’s future.

Kyle Walker-Peters was a doubt himself but he is fit enough to start. Nuno was full of praise for Ollie Scarles after the 2-2 midweek draw at Brighton and he begins a third successive Premier LEague match for the third time.

The aforementioned Todibo misses out with a groin strain, though. This means Konstantinos Mavropanos starts alongside Max Kilman, while Crysencio Summerville also returns to the XI in Paqueta’s as-yet unexplained absence.

Played for both – West Ham and Wolves! 🤝

Who would you pick from this XI to play for the Hammers today?
