West Ham v Liverpool team news: Brutal Nuno drops flop as new signing makes rare start

Lucas Paqueta and Konstantinos Mavropanos return for West Ham United against Liverpool with Soungoutou Magassa also handed a start by Nuno Espirito Santo, but there is still no sight of Crysencio Summerville.

Nuno hoped to have Summerville back for the visit of the reigning Premier League champions.

The winger missed last week’s 2-2 draw at AFC Bournemouth with a knock. However, Summerville appears to have failed a late fitness test, as he is not part of the West Ham United squad for Sunday’s 2.05pm kick-off.

Konstantinos Mavropanos is back, though, and in the starting XI to boot. The under-fire Max Kilman drops to the bench.

Nuno Espirito Santo makes three changes for West Ham United vs Liverpool

Also in from the start is Soungoutou Magassa.

France Under-21 international Magassa has been heavily linked with Napoli in recent days. He will now get the chance to prove – on what is only his third Premier League start – that he has a lot to offer in claret and blue.

His introduction is one of three changes from the team that drew on the South Coast. Igor Julio, Luis Guilherme and the aforementioned Kilman drop to the bench.

As for Liverpool, Arne Slot has Florian Wirtz back after a spell on the sidelines. Record signing Alexander Isak starts, looking to end his Premier League drought.

The out-of-sorts Mo Salah, meanwhile, suffers the Kilman treatment. He begins on the bench.
