Graham Potter has named his West Ham United starting XI for the Premier League clash with Southampton.

West Ham are in desperate need of all three points as we play host to Southampton in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Potter has named a very interesting starting XI for the showdown with the Saints.

West Ham face a huge summer transfer window ahead, but in the here and now, Potter needs to start picking up results.

If the Hammers manage to go on a run of wins between now and the end of the season, the players will head into the 2025/26 campaign with some real momentum.

And what better opportunity to embark on a winning run than a home game against this season’s Premier League whipping boys.

West Ham starting XI vs Southampton confirmed

Potter has made one or two big calls regarding his team selection this afternoon.

Here’s how the 49-year-old has decided to line up for the clash with Southampton, as confirmed via the Hammers’ official X account:

Alphonse Areola, Vladimir Coufal, Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Emerson Palmieri, James Ward-Prowse, Carlos Soler, Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Niclas Fullkrug

Potter finally starting Niclas Fullkrug will be greeted with much cheer from the Hammers fans.

Carlos Soler’s inclusion in central midfield should enable Potter’s side to be more creative inside the final third as well.

Whatever happens today, West Ham need all three points.

If Potter is being honest with himself, he needs a top drawer performance from his players as well.

Southampton are the worst team in the Premier League, by quite some way.

And nothing less than a convincing win will do for West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The West Ham starting XI selected by Graham Potter is arguably the best one we’ve seen all season, aside from Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s omission of course.
