West Ham starting XI vs Fulham confirmed

Julen Lopetegui has named his West Ham United starting XI for our clash with Fulham this afternoon.

West Ham take on Fulham in the Premier League today, and Julen Lopetegui will be desperate for a result after his team picked up just three points from their opening three games.

The West Ham starting XI named by Lopetegui today is a slightly underwhelming one, with the Spaniard having made only one change from the defeat to Manchester City two weeks ago.

Craven Cottage is a tough place to go and get a result.

Fulham are an incredibly energetic team, and last season’s 5-0 defeat there will be fresh in the memories of many players who are starting today.

Hopefully they put that awful performance and result behind them, and bring back the three points today.

As mentioned earlier, Lopetegui has made just one change from the team that lost 3-1 to Manchester City.

Despite the fact that it’s still so early on in the season, a positive result this afternoon is vital to our hopes of enjoying a successful season if you ask me.

Sure, we all have to be patient with Lopetegui, but a return of anything less than six points from four games really will put the Spaniard behind the eight-ball.

A win is needed today big time.

Tomas Soucek comes into the team in place of Lucas Paqueta.

So, here’s exactly how we line up against Fulham this afternoon, as confirmed via the club’s official X account:

Alphonse Areola, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Emerson Palmieri, Guido Rodriguez, Edson Alvarez, Tomas Soucek, Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio

That really isn’t the team that I wanted to see today.

It’s a big afternoon for the likes of Bowen and Kudus.

However, the pressure is really on Michail Antonio as well to show everyone what he’s capable of.

I’m hoping to see some exciting, forward thinking football on display from the boys in West London today.

However, after seeing that starting XI, I would take a point now. COYI X
