Here are our West Ham United player ratings after the Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
West Ham welcomed Bournemouth to the London Stadium on Saturday for what was a vital Premier League showdown.
Graham Potter talked up the need for the West Ham players to ‘up their levels’ before the Cherries clash.
The 2-2 draw with Bournemouth wasn’t a bad result in isolation, but it’s clear that so much work still needs to be done.
The lack of energy and dynamism in the team right now is a major concern.
And Potter has a serious task on his hands if he is to turn things around.
West Ham player ratings vs Bournemouth
There were a few positives on display during the 2-2 draw with the Cherries, but the majority of what we saw was underwhelming to say the least.
Here’s how Hammers News rated the players’ performances…
Alphonse Areola 3
A truly shocking mistake from the Frenchman in the first-half gifted Bournemouth the lead. He’s not the man we need if we are to reach the next level. His inability to command his penalty area with authority puts us under real pressure as a team. And his poor technical ability with the ball at his feet really isn’t conducive with a Graham Potter system.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 6
One of Wan-Bissaka’s quieter days at the office today.
Max Kilman 6.5
A decent display from the 27-year-old, but nothing special.
Jean-Clair Todibo 6.5
Much like his centre-back partner Kilman, Todibo was average against the Cherries and nothing more.
Ollie Scarles 5
The 19-year-old is definitely a talent, but he was nowhere near good enough against Bournemouth.
Edson Alvarez 5.5
The Mexican just isn’t good enough to play in the Premier League as far as I’m concerned. An all round poor performance from him.

Tomas Soucek 5
The 30-year-old always gives his all, but his quality is severely lacking at times.
James Ward-Prowse 6.5
The 30-year-old old’s all-round performance was far from inspiring, but he did bag an assist.
Mohammed Kudus 7
He showed signs today that he could be back to his best soon, and he laid on an assist for Jarrod Bowen. However, his decision making still leaves a lot to be desired.
Lucas Paqueta 6.5
The Brazilian was absolutely dreadful in the first-half, but he improved greatly during the final half an hour of the match when he operated just behind Niclas Fullkrug.
Jarrod Bowen 7.5
Another goal to add to his Hammers tally for Bowen. However, he definitely wasn’t anywhere near his best against Bournemouth.
Subs:
Emerson Palmieri 6
A bland display from the Italy international.
Niclas Fullkrug 8
A sensational cameo yet again from the big German. He quite simply has to start now next week away at Liverpool.
Carlos Soler 5
I’m still not sure what he actually offers the team?
Luis Guilherme N/A
Konstantinos Mavropanos N/A
Only five current West Ham players should start next season
There will undoubtedly be huge change at the London Stadium this summer.
Jarrod Bowen, Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the only five players who should be guaranteed starters for us next season.
Maybe Niclas Fullkrug could be added to that list as well, if he manages to maintain his fitness.
Graham Potter has a serious amount of work to do this summer, if he is to get the Hammers back firing again.
The West Ham player ratings from the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth prove just how poorly the majority of them are performing right now.
