West Ham fans react on Twitter to Aaron Cresswell performance against Leeds

West Ham fans took to Twitter to praise Aaron Cresswell after our clash against Leeds at the London Stadium this afternoon.

The 32-year-old made his return to the Hammers starting XI in midweek against Norwich having missed six weeks of action due to a back injury that he sustained in November.

David Moyes would have been delighted to get Cresswell back in the team because West Ham really missed him during his absence.

Arthur Masuaku is nowhere near good enough to be filling in for the Liverpool-born left-back and Ben Johnson is better suited to playing at right-back.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Longelo is too young and rough around the edges to be playing regular Premier League football.

Cresswell’s calming presence at the back makes us so much more composed when defending down the left-hand flank.

His incredible deliveries from set-pieces and open play make us so much more of a threat than when he isn’t playing, so it really is great to have him back for more reason than one.

The Leeds players’ movement caused us real problems all game.

Cresswell did a pretty good job against Raphina and his teammates, however, and he put numerous dangerous deliveries into the Leeds’ box.

The 32-year-old chalked up an assist after whipping in a great corner in the first-half for Jarrod Bowen to calmly nod home.

If Cresswell keeps playing like he does, there is absolutely no reason why he shouldn’t get a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
