Axel Disasi’s debut was a major discussion point for West Ham United fans on Saturday.
Indeed, Disasi made his return to Premier League action in a quick-fire debut for West Ham United after joining the club on loan from Chelsea on Deadline Day.
The Frenchman played the full game as West Ham beat Burnley 2-0 to breathe fresh life into their bid for Premier League survival.

Starting him from the off was a relative risk from Nuno Espirito Santo. While the game eventually played out in rather routine fashion, it was a must-win game for the Hammers.
To bring Disasi straight back into the fold, almost 300 days after his last Premier League appearance, was something of a gamble.
Still, it worked out well for Nuno and it’s hard to imagine the former Monaco defender dropping out of the side any time soon.
It was a promising debut for the defender and Hammers News subscribers were impressed.
West Ham fans impressed as Axel Disasi makes positive West Ham debut
Following the full-time whistle at Turf Moor, the website asked our subscribers on TalkingPoints to rate his debut.
The response was very positive indeed, particularly because West Ham managed to keep only their second clean sheet of the season.
One fan wrote: “A brilliant debut for us, West Ham United. Played excellently on his debut. Well done, a sound performance.”
Another added: “I kept an eye on our back line at Burnley and it’s the best I’ve seen us defend in some time. I was unsure with Disasi, but he did pretty good. Looks like we could be staying up.”
“Positioning was spot on. Looked comfortable and confident on the ball and the lad reads the game very well. Looks a good signing on first impression,” said another.

“Looks ok, sturdy game yesterday. Solid, well done Axel. COYIs,” was another.
One supporter simply wrote: “Well done.”
As Nuno said in his post-match press conference, West Ham do have talent up front who can hurt teams.
If they can keep things tight at the back, they will surely have enough to take this relegation battle down to the wire at least.
Hopefully, Disasi can help do that.

How much West Ham spent on Axel Disasi loan deal – and how much he could save them
Disasi’s loan move reportedly cost West Ham around £1.7million, which seems rather on the high side.
Given there is no option nor obligation to buy, it means he can only realistically play 14 Premier League games for the club, plus however many FA Cup games West Ham manage this season.

That works out to roughly £120k-per-game, based on West Ham’s Premier League campaign.
While certainly pricy, it won’t really matter if Disasi does enough to keep West Ham up. According to The Athletic, dropping into the Championship could cost the club up to 75% of their revenue.
With that in mind, paying that kind of money for Disasi seems worth it…
