West Ham United fans have reacted on social media to the performance of Lucas Paqueta against Everton.
Everton played host to West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and Lucas Paqueta caught the attention of the Hammers fans.
Was it for the right reasons though?
There has been so many off-field problems for the Brazilian this season, with the West Ham board not confident that Lucas Paqueta will beat the accusations levelled against him.
West Ham star Lucas Paqueta broke his silence regarding the betting breach investigation in October 2024 and released a lengthy statement pleading his innocence.

His trial will begin on March 20th, and is expected to last around three weeks.
So we will soon know one way or the other what the future holds for him in the game.
However, the topic of discussion here and now is regarding his performance against the Toffees.
West Ham fans react to Lucas Paqueta performance vs Everton
Numerous Hammers fans flooded to social media platform X to share their thoughts on Paqueta’s performance against Everton.
One West Ham supporter said, “We are a better team without Paqueta on the pitch. Tell me why I’m wrong.“
Whilst a second Hammers fan highlighted his disproval at both Paqueta’s performance and the system used by Potter, “Get Paqueta off he is offering nothing get Ferguson on up top and go 3-4-2-1.“
Meanwhile, a third fan chimed in with criticism for the Brazilian as well, “Passive again to say the least so far West Ham. Kudus back to his infuriating best. As for Paqueta a bit less time on your arse would be good.“
Whilst a fourth fan highlighted just how poor Paqueta was against Everton, “After 12-18 months plus of watching Kudus and Paqueta being cr*p, I can only conclude they are cr*p.“
Then a fifth West Ham fan suggested that Paqueta is already plotting new career plans, “Emerson on the beach, Kudus on the beach, Paqueta plotting his new career plans in pizza delivery, Soucek not good enough, JWP is just a crab, Mavropanos should be waitering in Athens. Can’t wait for the season to end.“
A sixth supporter simply said the 27-year-old is a shadow of his former self, “You could say that but we’ve looked a lot more solid like that need to stop conceding first. Feel a bit for Potter as has to use what he’s got plus both Kudus & Paqueta are a shadow of themselves.“
And a seventh fan said Paqueta should not have re-emerged form the tunnel after half-time, “Kudus and Paqueta could easily be replaced at the half. Shocking performance so far….“
It really was a painful performance from Paqueta.
He lacked any kind of creativity or guile inside the final third, and as usual, he was very sloppy with his passing.
Lucas Paqueta stats vs Everton
The Brazilian midfielder has not been anywhere near his best for the Hammers this season.
And he served up another poor showing at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Paqueta just seems to be miles off the pace at the moment, and he has done all season long.
Don’t get me wrong, the problems he faces off the pitch are clearly making it next to impossible for him to put in good performances on the field of play.

However, that’s on Potter, and Julen Lopetegui before him. Why continue to play him when he’s so clearly well off the boil?
The really frustrating thing about the whole situation is that we all know how incredibly talented the former Lyon star is.
We just haven’t seen him anywhere near his best for quite some time now.
Paqueta’s stats against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday made for pretty grim reading, via Who Scored.
| Stats | Lucas Paqueta |
| Shots | 1 |
| Key passes | 0 |
| Dribbles | 0 |
| Times dispossessed | 1 |
| Interceptions | 0 |
| Accurate crosses | 0 |
| Accurate through balls | 0 |
| Misplaced passes | 8 |
Those numbers prove just how poor Lucas Paqueta was for West Ham against Everton.
Even if he is found not guilty within the next few weeks, Potter needs to drop him as far as I’m concerned.
The West Ham squad needs a huge shake up in the summer, and the Brazilian is someone who I think should be moved on, if he is allowed to play again.
