West Ham United forward Valentin Castellanos has issued something of a rallying cry following Saturday’s defeat to Liverpool.
Castellanos scored his third goal in ten games for West Ham United during their 5-2 defeat at Anfield.
Indeed, Castellanos was criticised following West Ham’s loss to Liverpool, largely because of his poor defending in two of the three corners from which the Reds scored first half goals.

While that’s somewhat harsh given the Argentine is an attacking player, these are the fine margins by which games are won and lost.
Still, the Hammers have little time for self-pity, and Castellanos is keen to put that result behind them heading into West Ham’s next game.
Taty urges West Ham to bounce back quickly
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the forward captioned a post: “Saddened by the result, we didn’t come here for that, let’s hope we bounce back quickly.
“Many thanks to all the West Ham fans who were able to attend. We really appreciate your support. Focused on the next game.”
The former Lazio forward is right there. While there’s no shame in losing away at Liverpool, the manner of the defeat was disappointing.

Indeed, West Ham were their own worst enemy against Liverpool, making life very difficult for themselves by proving so poor at defending set-pieces.
Still, the relegation battle involving West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham goes on.
With both Forest and Spurs losing around 24 hours after West Ham’s defeat, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side haven’t lost much ground at the bottom of the Premier League table.
As Castellanos suggests, it’s all about the next game. The Irons head to Fulham on Wednesday, which looks a much more favourable game than Forest’s next fixture – which comes away at Manchester City.
Three points at Craven Cottage would then see West Ham cut the gap on Spurs to just one point, placing huge pressure on a team already in full blown crisis before they play Crystal Palace on Thursday.
There is hope for West Ham just yet, but the Fulham game could be season-defining.
