Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner highlighted West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen in his post-match press conference.

The winger was far from his best in the 0-0 draw on Monday night, as he never really looked like scoring or assisting a goal.

His dismal display summed up West Ham’s lack of creativity in the final third in a missed opportunity to pull away from Tottenham.

However, Glasner’s admission about Bowen’s ability remained positive despite his difficult evening at Selhurst Park.

Oliver Glasner praises Jarrod Bowen’s set-piece delivery

Neither West Ham nor Palace deserved to win the game, as both teams looked happy to accept a hard-earned draw.

The Hammers had a few decent chances, but they will be disappointed not to have threatened Palace’s backline more.

While Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe struggled up front, Bowen’s performance was arguably the most frustrating.

The club captain is usually so reliable in attacking areas, but he was fortunate not to have been substituted by Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, Glasner still felt like Bowen was the most likely source of a goal for the visiting team at Selhurst Park.

He highlighted the Englishman’s set-piece delivery during his interview with Sky Sports after the game.

“West Ham defended the box very well. We matched their motivation today. It’s all good,” he reflected on the draw.

“The biggest threat came from set-plays today. We gifted them too many, especially in the first half. They have many tall players, and Bowen delivers the ball well.”

While Glasner is not wrong to praise Bowen’s crossing, West Ham fans will expect a lot more from him in the last five fixtures.

If the Hammers are to earn enough points to survive relegation, Bowen must play a lot better than he did against Palace.
