Bournemouth and West Ham United played out a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium in a Premier League game that saw Max Kilman give away a penalty.

Callum Wilson scored a brace for the visitors to give them a 2-0 lead in the first half, but they failed to hold on and had to settle for a point.

For Bournemouth, Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring after Kilman handled the ball inside the penalty area.

Enes Unal then scored the Cherries’ second goal of the night to ensure the hosts secured something from the game.

Sky Sports pundit Tony Gale reacts to Max Kilman’s penalty incident

In the 67th minute, Evanilson found himself inside the West Ham United penalty area and he looked to have a shot on goal.

To prevent that from happening, Kilman threw himself to the floor in order to try and win the ball back.

However, the Cherries striker skillfully avoided the challenge and, by doing so, ensured that the ball made contact with the defender’s outstretched arm.

There was no way that the VAR Michael Oliver was going to overturn the call and Bournemouth scored from the resulting penalty.

Tony Gale, a Sky Sports pundit who was on co-commentary for the Premier League’s world feed, said: “He’s meant to do that. He’s definitely struck his hand out. We can see that. It’s the right call.”

Kilman can be dropped by Nuno for West Ham United vs Liverpool

This was a game that Kilman will want to put in the rear-view mirror as soon as possible, as he struggled to keep up with Bournemouth’s tempo.

Next up for West Ham is a bruised and battered Liverpool side after their shocking 3-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.

They will be looking to return to winning ways and Arne Slot will most certainly ask his Liverpool attackers to exploit Kilman.

To avoid this, Nuno could revert to a back four and start with a centre-back pairing of Jean-Clair Todibo and Igor Julio.

If Konstantinos Mavropanos trains this week and recovers from his injury completely, he could also be given the nod to start against the Reds.
