West Ham United goalkeeper Mads Hermansen was so good in their win over Fulham that even Marco Silva paid a special mention to him after the game.

Indeed, Hermansen made two brilliant saves during West Ham United’s 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The Dane denied both Josh King and Timothy Castagne to seal a fourth clean sheet for West Ham in the nine Premier League games he has played.

Hermansen was brilliant for West Ham against Fulham, and Silva appeared to concede that after the game.

Silva hails “great” save from Hermansen

The Cottagers boss insisted his side shouldn’t have lost the game but did admit that the “great” save Hermansen made from Castagne in the dying embers of the game made a huge impact.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, Silva said: “The moment we almost equalised was a great save from the goalkeeper and that made an impact. It’s a disappointing evening for us.”

A big call from Nuno! What did you make of JC?!

Hermansen has been one of the stars of West Ham’s recent revival, and the decision not to only keep him during the January transfer window but to bring him back into the starting lineup now looks to be an inspired one.

West Ham would simply not have collected all three points without the former Leicester goalkeeper on Wednesday night.

It was a big call from Nuno Espirito Santo to replace Alphonse Areola with Hermansen last month.

The Dane had struggled to convince following a move from Leicester and was reportedly even close to leaving the club during the January transfer window.

However, Nuno decided to keep Hermansen at West Ham and it seems as if no one has looked back since.

Quite whether or not they have enough to stay in the Premier League remains to be seen.

The Irons, however, do have a much better chance of avoiding relegation, and the likes of Hermansen are to thank for that.

Silva did not sound happy about the result but it was only right that he praised Hermansen for his match-winning save.
