West Ham fans paid their tributes to Billy Bonds before and during the game against Aston Villa on Sunday in the Premier League.

The Hammers played host to Villa at the London Stadium and the home fans once again created a memorable atmosphere.

The game itself lived up to its billing, especially as Mateus Fernandes opened the scoring for West Ham in the 29th minute.

The Hammers fans continued pouring in with their tributes for Bonds at the London Stadium.

Footage has emerged showing them clapping and chanting his name ahead of kick-off.

This was such a touching moment…

These tributes continued once the game started too and the overall atmosphere in the stadium was upbeat, given the fact that the hosts have twice taken the lead.

Konstantinos Mavropanos‘ own goal made the score 1-1, but Jarrod Bowen scored the second for West Ham to put them 2-1 up.

Mavropanos’ inclusion may have cost West Ham the game.

Igor Julio is certainly the better of the two defenders. What do you make of Nuno's decision?

How have West Ham played so far?

The Hammers have been impressive as they opened the scoring early on through Fernandes’ goal.

It looked like it was beginning to unravel as Mavropanos conceded an own goal minutes later.

West Ham have struggled to hold on to leads, but giving up one so soon made fans fear for the worst.

However, they did not let their heads slip and were once again in the lead courtesy of Jarrod Bowen.

While Villa have controlled possession, they have not been able to create too many chances.

That’s perhaps because Nuno’s players have been extremely well-drilled out of possession and are not giving any breathing room to the likes of Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers or John McGinn.

Hopefully, this continues in the second period as well and three points are once again there for the taking for the Irons.

In recent games, they have struggled to go the extra yard to secure the win, and that is something Nuno will remind them of at half-time.

He may look to bring on Tomas Soucek and Callum Wilson in the second half, as they will offer physicality and legs, both of which will be needed in the next 45 minutes.
