Callum Wilson scored a late winner as West Ham United claimed a vital 2-1 win over Everton on Saturday.
Wilson struck late to seal West Ham’s dramatic victory over Everton, after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had cancelled out Tomas Soucek’s opener.
Who was YOUR MOTM vs Everton and why? 🎉🎉🎉
With Tottenham winning at Wolves, West Ham simply had to win. While it wasn’t pretty, they managed to dig deep and stay clear of the relegation zone for another game at least.
Here are five things Hammers News learned.
West Ham pull closer towards Premier League safety
While Tottenham’s win at Wolves means the gap between the two London rivals at the foot of the Premier League table remains two points, it at least keeps the status quo for another game as time ticks down.
West Ham are now safe in the knowledge that if they keep this up for four more games, they will play Premier League football next season.

David Moyes endures miserable birthday
David Moyes is a West Ham legend and what he did for the club cannot be forgotten.
Hammers fans here in east London and beyond, however, will be celebrating all while Moyes endures a miserable birthday.
On his 63rd birthday, the Scot saw his team beaten in dramatic fashion after a particularly contentious Mateus Fernandes penalty call went West Ham’s way.

Callum Wilson comes back to haunt Everton – again
Wilson was linked with a move to Everton in January, yet the striker was on hand to down the Merseyside club once again.
Prior to Saturday’s clash, the striker had scored seven goals in his last eight appearances against Everton and continued that hot streak with a winner at the London Stadium.
What a masterstroke keeping Wilson in January has proven to be.
Tomas Soucek continues brilliant record vs Everton
Speaking of fine records against Everton…
After a tense 50 minutes, Soucek did what he does better than most midfielders – and that’s scoring against them.
His near-post header from a Jarrod Bowen cross was his third goal against the Toffees in four games.
Soucek was everywhere in the game, clearing one off the line and making last-ditch tackles too.
On Soucek’s 200th Premier League start for West Ham, he put in one of his best performances yet.

Board protests continue
Karren Brady may have left West Ham United earlier this week but the protests against the West Ham owners continue.
Brady’s departure after 16 years was never going to answer every issue the fans have with the ownership and that was proved on Saturday.
Fans held up red cards in protest against David Sullivan, further underlining the bigger issues at the club right now.
On the pitch, however, there’s genuine unity.
