David Moyes spoke to reporters after West Ham United’s win over Aston Villa last night and admitted that he told Declan Rice that he did not pay well in the first-half, as quoted by Football.London.

The Hammers beat the Villans 2-1 at the London Stadium last night.
In truth, we were incredibly lucky to take all three points from the contest.
Aston Villa missed a penalty and had a late goal ruled our for offside by VAR.
So what though? We have had plenty of bad luck over the past 12 months or so. And we must take our good fortune when we are given it.
West Ham were poor for large parts of the game, however, and that will be a concern for Moyes and the club’s fans.
The Hammers boss spoke to reporters after the game and responded when asked what he thought of Declan Rice suggesting that he and his teammates did not play well, as quoted by Football.London:
“Well I am the manager and I told him that he didn’t play well in the first half either or the team, they were made well aware of that and that’s why we made the change to find a solution.”
It’s incredibly hard to criticise Rice. The 21-year-old has been our best and most consistent player over the past two or three years.
The England international is still incredibly young, however. So we need to remember that he will have off days. It’s just human nature.
Rice will continue to get better and better though. And West Ham are incredibly lucky to have him.
Last night was a one off. He will undoubtedly be back to his best when we welcome Manchester United to town on Saturday.
