Confirmed West Ham vs Manchester United starting XI

West Ham United play host to Manchester United this afternoon, and Julen Lopetegui has named his starting XI for the game.

The West Ham starting XI selected by Julen Lopetegui should have more than enough to cause Manchester United all sorts of problems in the hugely important Premier League clash.

The Hammers lost 4-1 to Tottenham last time out, and the boys desperately need to bounce back against Man United at the London Stadium today.

Lopetegui is in dire need of a big win to really kickstart his West Ham career, and the Hammers head coach would dearly love a convincing victory over Erik ten Hag’s men this afternoon.

Man United came from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend, and then drew 1-1 with Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Without tempting fate, I feel like the game is there for the taking for us today.

But what team has Lopetegui settled on to face Manchester United?

As far as I’m concerned, nothing less than a win will do today.

Given the difficulty of the fixtures lying ahead of us, a draw or a defeat could spell real trouble.

Here’s how Lopetegui has set up his team for the visit of Manchester United, as confirmed via the club’s official X account:

Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Max Kilman, Emerson Palmieri, Guido Rodriguez, Edson Alvarez, Lucas Paqueta, Carlos Soler, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio

Lopetegui has made four changes from the 4-1 defeat to Spurs last weekend.

Lukasz Fabianski, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Edson Alvarez and Carlos Soler come into the side in place of Alphonse Areola, Jean-Clair Todibo, Tomas Soucek and Mohammed Kudus.

Every single player on the pitch has to be at their very best today.

I want to see us start the game on the front foot, and cause the Red Devils all sorts of problems from the very first whistle.

The West Ham starting XI selected by Lopetegui is definitely good enough to get three points against Manchester United – let’s just hope that the players turn up.

I’m going for West Ham to win 2-1, COYI X
