Chelsea are are set to travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.

The West Ham vs Chelsea Premier League clash this weekend is a hugely important one for both sides.

Julen Lopetegui and Enzo Maresca are both in desperate need of a result and a big performance from their players at the London Stadium.

West Ham have already been handed a very big boost ahead of the game, with the news that the injury suffered by Emerson Palmieri last weekend isn’t serious.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been dealt a big blow with the news that Stuart Attwell will be on VAR duty for the game.

After a return of just four points from our opening four Premier League games, the Hammers desperately need a win this weekend.

And after the latest news, West Ham may well have a very good chance of doing just that.

Chelsea blow ahead of West Ham clash

Whilst the West Ham players undoubtedly face a very tough game ahead of them at the London Stadium this weekend, they are still well capable of beating Chelsea.

And now the stars could well be aligning for the Hammers.

That’s because Chelsea are currently in the midst of somewhat of an injury crisis, according to one report.

Unfortunately for the west Londoners, they could be unable to call upon some of their most important players for the Hammers game.

Chelsea could be missing six key players for their clash with West Ham on Saturday, according to Premier Injuries.

Reece James, Malo Gusto and Omari Kellyman are apparently all ruled out. Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia has a 25% chance of playing and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Enzo Fernandez both have 50/50 chances of featuring.

Having those players unavailable for selection will be a big blow for Chelsea. However, the bad news for the Hammers is that the Blues have one of the very strongest squads in the Premier League.

That said, it could also be argued that Maresca’s men will be there for the taking this weekend.

Don’t get me wrong, the West Ham players will all have to be bang on their games if they are to have any chance of beating Chelsea.

But the visitors missing so many key players definitely should make their jobs a lot easier.
