Aaron Cresswell absolutely raved about David De Gea after Manchester United beat West Ham 1-0 at Old Trafford yesterday.

Manchester United took the lead late on in the first-half through a Marcus Rashford header.

The Hammers should have gone for the game from the start, and then we might have got a result.

West Ham dominated the game in the second-half and would have taken something from the game if it wasn’t for David De Gea.

The Spaniard was in sensational form for Manchester United, and made three top-class saves from Michail Antonio, Kurt Zouma and Declan Rice that earned his side the victory in the end.

De Gea was applauded by the home fans and Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, but it seems as though the West Ham players were very impressed by his performance as well…

Aaron Cresswell says West Ham players really impressed by Manchester United star

The Spanish stopper kept Man United in the game at the end.

And Cresswell admitted that De Gea was the talk of the town inside the West Ham dressing room after the match, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

De Gea has made some unbelievable saves. On another day [those efforts] go in. He has made three or four great saves. We have just spoken inside the dressing room – it feels like the worst-case scenario because we should have got something.

Cresswell is spot on – David De Gea really was sensational for Manchester United at Old Trafford yesterday.

It still frustrates me that we didn’t lay a glove on them until the final 20 minutes or so, and things could have been so different had we gone for the jugular earlier on in the game.

In spite of that, it was clear that De Gea saved Manchester United late on yesterday, and West Ham were unfortunate to leave Old Trafford with nothing to show for our efforts.
