West Ham United have a huge game against Sunderland on Saturday.

Recent wins over QPR and Tottenham have raised hope that this West Ham United side are still fighting under Nuno Espirito Santo.

That is the least fans can expect in this situation, but that kind of character was not at all evident during the bleak defeat to Wolves earlier this month.

How much money would it take for you to sell Lucas Paqueta? 🤔

There’s still a long way to go of course and West Ham desperately need to beat Sunderland at home in the Premier League’s early kick-off.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest West Ham injury news and potential return dates.

Lucas Paqueta

Lucas Paqueta continues to be linked with a move away from West Ham.

Indeed, Paqueta wants to rejoin former club Flamengo, who are thought to have seen two offers snubbed.

Clearly, the transfer speculation is hard to ignore and Paqueta will not play for West Ham against Sunderland.

Still, and fans can read into this however they’d like, Nuno did again claim that the club were assessing Paqueta’s back injury, which has ruled him out of the last few games.

Speaking on Thursday, the West Ham boss said: “He won’t be in the squad for the game against Sunderland this weekend. We have to assess his injury day by day.”

Lukasz Fabianski

Injuries have been fairly kind to West Ham this season.

As per a recent study from BBC Sport, they’ve only lost 302 days of action across 12 separate injuries this season, which gives them the fifth-best injury record in the Premier League.

One of the few Hammers who hasn’t enjoyed such luck, however, is Lukasz Fabianski.

The veteran goalkeeper made a quick-fire return to the club in September, having been released only a few months before.

Still, he’s made only one squad all season – and that was way back in September.

The 40-year-old has been dealing with a back injury but Fabianski has recently confirmed that he’s set to return to action in February.

“From February I’d like to work with the team at full capacity and be available for matches,” he said.
