West Ham United fans have been left bemused by Tomas Soucek’s position in pre-match team news.

Insider makes astonishing new transfer budget claim, says Moyes wants trio

West Ham boss David Moyes has made five changes to his side for the crunch game against Burnley.

The likes of Craig Dawson, Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio return to the side.

Hammers boosted by return of trio but lose Ogbonna and Noble

Meanwhile Manuel Lanzini and Said Benrahma also get rare starts for the Hammers after an injury to Mark Noble.

Angelo Ogbonna is injured again too in a blow for West Ham.

The ever reliable Tomas Soucek starts once again. But West Ham fans have been left confused by the position he has been given in pre-match team line-ups on a host of football sites.

BBC Sport, One Football, Sky Sports and several others have Soucek down as playing at centre-back in a back three alongside Issa Diop and Craig Dawson.

Fans bemused by Soucek position in pre-match line-ups – but it is surely just an error

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter and WhatsApp in great numbers to question Soucek’s position.

But the line-up is surely just an error.

The line-up looks certain to be a back four with Vladimir Coufal at right-back, Dawson and Diop at centre-back and Cresswell at left-back.

The midfield will be Soucek, Pablo Fornals and Lanzini behind Benrahma, Jesse Lingard and Antonio.

Evergreen Tom will be in midfield as Hammers go in search of massive win

So don’t panic West Ham fans. Our joint top scorer won’t be used at centre-back even though he would undoubtedly do a brilliant job there if needed.

It is a huge game for the Hammers.

Victory for West Ham would put them back in fifth place above Spurs and just three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

With four games to go after tonight it would leave the Hammers with everything to play for as Chelsea face a tough run-in.

Even if West Ham don’t get that last Champions League spot, a win would do their chances of securing a Europa League spot the world of good.
