West Ham have been boosted by a key return for the Man United clash but so too is Erik ten Hag as the Hammers head to Old Trafford.

West Ham take on Manchester United in what is a huge game in the battle for the Premier League top six.

Aston Villa’s huge win last night has effectively ended any hope for either West Ham or Man United of finishing in the top four as it opens up what is essentially an 11-point gap with 16 games left.

But fifth place will likely be rewarded with a Champions League spot too, so the clash between West Ham and Man United is crucial in closing the gap on Spurs and deciding who ends the weekend in sixth place.

West Ham boosted by key return for Man United

A draw keeps the Hammers there for another week. A West Ham win opens up a four-point gap on seventh place and closes the gap on Tottenham to five.

But if Man United win they will leapfrog the Hammers.

It’s been a poor start to 2024 for David Moyes and his side. And they will be wary of facing a Man United team who beat Wolves in a seven-goal thriller last time out.

West Ham know they have the beating of the Red Devils having comfortably won 2-0 in the reverse fixture just before Christmas.

But so too is Ten Hag

West Ham are boosted by a key return for Man United clash but so too is Erik ten Hag.

The Irons welcome back defender Vladimir Coufal following his one-game ban.

But Ten Hag has revealed he too hopes to have three players available who had been doubts.

Defensive trio Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof could all be ready to face the Hammers according to Ten Hag.

Ten Hag revealed Martinez was only withdrawn against Wolves as a precautionary measure, even if the centre-back was spotted with a heavily strapped left foot.

The 2pm kick-off between Man United and West Ham is live on Sky Sports.
