Blunting Blades could reinvigorate West Ham’s season

But it says a lot about how tight the division is this season that a West Ham win at Brammall Lane would put David Moyes’s side just four points behind their hosts.

It is a case of so far, so good for Moyes on his controversial West Ham return.

Many Hammers fans were unhappy with the re-appointment, feeling it was typical of their unambitious owners.

But a 4-0 win over Bournemouth on New Year’s Day – West Ham’s biggest league victory in three and a half years at their new London Stadium home – and a 2-0 win at Gillingham in the FA Cup has brightened the mood.

West Ham fans love to see academy graduates in first team

West Ham rate both highly. According to the club’s official website Ngakia (pictured training alongside Declan Rice and Sebastien Haller above) models his game on injured first team star Michail Antonio.

“Ngakia is a strong and speedy player who plays to his strengths whenever he is given the opportunity,” the official website states.

“Highly-regarded from a young age, Ngakia made 17 appearances for West Ham United’s U18s during the 2016/17 season, when he was still a schoolboy.”

Rosa (pictured above in action for West Ham’s Under 23s back in November) does not have a profile write-up on West Ham’s site.

But the 19-year-old midfielder has made 17 appearances in Premier League 2, scoring once and providing four assists.
