West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini is under pressure to get his players performing for the first time since the start of the season.
West Ham were well beaten 2-0 by relegation-threatened Cardiff last time out.
The Hammers barely registered a shot on target against a side that has conceded nearly 60 goals this season and was shorn of their best defender.
Pellegrini admitted after the game he was left frustrated by the performance of his team (Sky Sports).
If he could change the majority of the starting XI for the visit of Huddersfield to the London Stadium he probably would.
West Ham needed to beat Cardiff to put the pressure on Wolves and Watford in the race for seventh place and a potential Europa League spot.
Pellegrini to make three changes?
But instead the East Londoners put in a dismal performance against the lowly Bluebirds.
That has been a recurring theme of West Ham’s up and down season. As a result the performance sparked the first murmurings of discontent among fans since the start of the season.
Pellegrini looks set to react by making three key changes to the team which started in Wales.
Zabaleta in for Fredericks
Just when it looked like Ryan Fredericks was making the right back position his own he has turned in performances which have raised major doubts over his ability at the top level again.
Pablo Zabaleta was absent from the squad at Cardiff due to illness and had dropped out of the team before that after playing the majority of West Ham’s games this season. But the experienced Argentine will come back into the team against the Terriers.
Nasri in for Snodgrass
Robert Snodgrass has had a superb season.
But he looked tired last time out and did not perform to the high standards he has set for himself.
West Ham need more creativity and guile and Nasri will come into the side from the start to offer just that alongside Manuel Lanzini.
Arnautovic in for Hernandez
This is a situation that is dividing the fanbase at the moment. Many feel Pellegrini has been right to punish Marko Arnautovic by keeping him on the sidelines.
Others feel the manager should be playing their best striker given what is potentially at stake. In his absence Javier Hernandez had been performing reasonably well.
But the Mexican offered little against Cardiff and persistently dived which riled even West Ham fans. As a result Arnautovic will finally come back in from the start.
