Mark Lawrenson unsurprisingly backed West Ham United to lose 2-0 against Burnley on Monday night, when writing his regular prediction column for BBC Sport.

Lawro rarely predicts the Hammers to win. In fact, if every result he predicted for us this season would have been correct, we would be sitting down in 13th spot on 36 points!
Fortunately for West Ham, however, Lawro has been well off with his predictions this season.
David Moyes’s men are currently flying high in fifth spot in the Premier League table.

The Hammers absolutely have to beat Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday night, however, if we are to keep our Champions League dreams alive.
Mark Lawrenson predicts Burnley vs West Ham result
Sean Dyche will have his Clarets side well up for it on Monday night. So we will have to be at our very best in order to win the game.
Mark Lawrenson thinks the Hammers will be in for a tough night against Burnley, however:

“What a fabulous result Burnley got last weekend, beating Wolves 4-0. The Clarets were never going to get relegated but they needed a response after losing three in a row and it was typical of their manager Sean Dyche to deliver one like that. West Ham, meanwhile, are just starting to falter after losing their past two games. Without injured duo Declan Rice and Michail Antonio, I think they might struggle to get back on track at Turf Moor.”
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Of course we could lose to Burnley.
We believe that this West Ham team has the resilience and belief to bounce back from our last two defeats with what would be a huge win at Turf Moor, however.
Each and every Hammers player must stand up and be counted on Monday night. Our Champions League hopes are hanging by a thread. And we think the boys will deliver the goods against Burnley.
