Moyes under fire over ‘negative’ tactics

West Ham fans have been angered by what many see as negative tactics and substitutions from Moyes. Pundits have also been critical of the Scot’s cautious approach.

They believe it cost them dear in the 3-3 draw with Brighton and resulted in a no-contest 2-0 defeat at Manchester City last time out.

Many teams see games against the likes of Liverpool as a free hit.

But West Ham fans fear Moyes will once again opt for a damage limitation exercise to keep the score down against the champions elect.

West Ham actually played well for long spells in the reverse fixture at the end of January.

Hammers desperate for every point

The Hammers had the same number of shots on target as Liverpool that day (five). But they failed to take advantage and the Reds ran out 2-0 winners at the London Stadium.

A point for West Ham at Anfield would be enough to lift them out of the relegation zone after other results went their way for the third game week in a row.

And Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum believes Moyes will stick to his defensive approach (Liverpool FC).

Liverpool ace predicts Moyes will ignore critics

“It’s going to be a difficult game,” Wijnaldum told Liverpool’s official website.

“When we played away it was already a difficult game – they dropped deep, they made it difficult for us to play our football.

“I think they’re going to try to do that again. Every situation is different, we just have to deal with the situation we will be in at that moment.”
