Insider makes claim about West Ham clash against Tottenham ahead of lastest TV schedule announcement

West Ham United’s game against Tottenham Hotspur in November will be moved to a different time.

That’s according to reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee on Thursday afternoon.

The anonymous Twitter and radio personality was responding to speculation among Hammers supporters that their London derby double header against rivals Tottenham and Chelsea were set to move as part of the latest wave of TV selections.

Speculation over November fixture changes

Currently West Ham host Tottenham at the London Stadium on Saturday November 23rd 3pm.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are then set to travel to Stamford Bridge to face Frank Lampard’s Chelsea a week later at the same time.

Claims on social media and fans forums stated that both games were set to move as they had been chosen to be broadcast on television.

But ExWHUemployee has moved to clarify the situation.

He claims only the Spurs match will be affected.

Insider sets the record straight

But the game will not be shifted to the Sunday, instead it will be at the earlier kick-off time of 12.30pm to fill BT Sport’s Saturday lunchtime slot.

“Official confirmation should come later today,” ExWHUemployee said on Twitter.

“But I believe now the only game that will be moved in November is our game against Spurs which will move to 12.30pm on Saturday to be shown on BT Sports.”

So there you have it West Ham fans, panic over.

It suits Tottenham and manager Mauricio Pochettino has it gives Spurs more time to recover for their Champions League game against Olympiakos three days later.

Chelsea on the other hand will have just two days to recover from an away match at Valencia on November 27th before facing West Ham.

Impact minimised for ‘after-thought’ fans

Supporters often feel like they are an after thought when it comes to re-arranging the fixture schedule for televised matches.

And although both are London derbies, moving days often means people end up having to miss out due to other commitments.

While nothing has been officially announced at the time of writing, it will come as a big relief to fans to see neither game – two of the biggest of West Ham’s season in terms of rivalry – will be moved.

Now Pellegrini just has to make sure he pulls off more heroics as West Ham aim to gatecrash the top six this season.
