Freddie Ljungberg's vote of no confidence ahead of West Ham Arsenal clash

West Ham United have received a big boost ahead of tonight’s crucial London derby with Arsenal.

Arsenal are on their worst run for more than 40 years and were beaten 2-1 at home by Brighton last time out.

West Ham have won just once in their last 10 games.

As a result Manuel Pellegrini’s position is the subject of intense speculation.

Managerial merry-go-round starts to spin

Arsenal’s dismal season saw Unai Emery pay the ultimate price with former Arsenal and West Ham midfielder Freddie Ljungberg taking over as caretaker.

Ljungberg has made no secret of the fact he wants the Gunners job full-time.

West Ham fans feel their club are always the fall guys. If a team or manager needs a win or a striker is in the middle of a drought West Ham tend to provide some respite.

But the Hammers’ hopes for a vital win over Arsenal have been given a boost.

West Ham boosted by reports Ljungberg claim

That’s after a report from The Mirror claimed Ljungberg has been given a vote of no confidence by Arsenal’s players ahead of the game.

The Mirror claims Arsenal’s players are ‘less than convinced by the methods of interim manager Ljungberg’.

And the report says ‘not one of them (is) willing to publicly back the Swede ahead of their game against West Ham on Monday’.

‘Arsenal players refuse to speak out’

“For the second week in a row ahead of the clash no Arsenal player spoke out about the current situation at the club, refusing to either lend their support to Ljungberg or discuss who they would like to become the next permanent boss,” The Mirror states.

“It may be that they have been instructed by the club to not talk about the topic, but the silence certainly speaks volumes about the current uncertainty around the Emirates.”

With Michail Antonio declaring himself fit, things are looking up for West Ham ahead of the game.
