The Paraguay international has resurrected his career at the London Stadium this season.

He really has been in great form after a poor campaign last term.

The 29-year-old has forged a wonderful relationship with Angelo Ogbonna at the heart of the Hammers’ defence.

Balbuena has lost his place recently to Craig Dawson, however.

Unfortunately for the former Corinthians ace, the Watford loanee has been in inspired form. And that will be really frustrating for the General.

West Ham ace Fabian Balbuena to miss out against Burnley?

ExWHUemployee suggested that it is highly unlikely that the £4m Manuel Pellegrini signing (The Sun) will be selected to start for today’s clash with Burnley:

In fairness to Craig Dawson, he has done more than enough to keep his place at centre-back. Three games and three clean sheets says all you need to know.

At the same time, however, Balbuena losing his place is incredibly harsh on the Paraguayan.

The 29-year-old will just have to be patient.

Fabian Balbuena still has a huge role to play for West Ham United this season. As long as the defender keeps working hard, there is no reason why he won’t be able to force his way back into the side sooner rather than later.
