West Ham were without a match last weekend but both fans and players alike are looking forward to the Chelsea fixture that could see the Hammers do the double over their London rivals.
West Ham beat Chelsea in the reverse fixture at Upton Park, thanks to a beautiful, dominant display by powerful midfielder Mohammed Diame who fired in a goal himself. The other two goals in that match came from fellow Chelsea youngster Carlton Cole and Modibo Maiga who has since been loaned out.
Maiga is the club’s joint second top scorer with four goals but was somehow un-needed at the Premier League outfit.
Mohammed Diame claimed the man of the match award at that game and has recently expressed his desire to overcome the champions of Europe when he, along with the rest of the squad travel to Stamford Bridge today.
West ham’s form as of late has been poor but an away win at Stoke City has lifted many a moral, as they became only the second team this season to claim all three points at the Brittania.
West Ham will no doubt be looking for a win today as they aim to clamber even further away from the relegation dog fight, of which they have avoided greatly so far. The Hammers were tipped for relegation early this season but have proved doubters wrong as they sit respectably in 12th.
Hammers fans will be roaring when they travel to West London as they ferociously call for an integral three points that could ultimately shift them into the top half of the Premier League.
Time will tell as the eager East London fan base that spreads drastically   over the country anticipates the joyous chance of overcoming the champions of Europe for yet another time this season.
