Grady Diangana has been called up to represent the England U21 national team. On the FA’s official website, Diangana’s call-up was announced, alongside QPR star Eberechi Eze.
Diangana and Eze replace Arsenal’s Joe Willock and Burnley’s Dwight McNeil in the squad. Willock and McNeil have both had to withdraw through injury, opening the door for Diangana and Eze.
Both players have deserved the chance to play for England U21 after impressing in the Championship. Diangana is in contention to face Turkey (away game, September 6) and Kosovo (home game in Hull, September 9) in Euro U21 qualifiers.
Grady Diangana earns call-up
Diangana has played for England’s U20 side but is now hoping to make his debut for the U21 outfit. The skilful left-footed midfielder has earned his promotion after impressing on loan at West Bromwich Albion.
Under Slaven Bilic, Diangana has taken his game to the next level. He scored twice on his league debut against Luton Town and added a third goal in his fourth game this weekend. It was a lovely chipped finish against Blackburn Rovers.
Here are some West Ham fans reacting to the 21-year-old’s England U21 call.
Love it. Well deserved Grady. This loan is exactly what he needs for a full season and then he’ll definitely be ready to go for us in 2020⚒

I’m happy we loaned him out, he’s gonna get confidence from playing in the championship and he’s showing everyone what a player he is. Hopefully there will be a space for him in our first team soon.

He looked sharp in pre-season, so I was disappointed to see him loaned out, but hopefully he comes back next summer as a much improved player, and can stake his claim in the first team
