West Ham United have a whole host of players currently away on international duty with their respective nations.
The international breaks are the bane of my life, and I’m sure all West Ham fans would agree, as well as fans of every other Premier League club!
It’s just an utterly dull couple of weeks, with no Premier League football to watch, discuss or indeed analyse.
In addition to that, there is always the worry that one or two of our best players will return to Rush Green injured.
As things stand, we’ve been fortunate on that front, but another big issue has seemingly come to light.
And that is the form of one West Ham player in particular…
West Ham player ripped apart after 3/10 international performance
One Hammer endured a miserable night playing for his country this weekend just gone.
Tomas Soucek has earned 73 international caps for the Czech Republic, and he is the team captain.

However, his display against Georgia left a lot to be desired.
Czech website iSport.cz absolutely went in on Soucek after his poor performance during his side’s 4-1 defeat to Georgia on Saturday night.
After handing Soucek a 3/10 score for his display, iSport didn’t hold back with their criticism of the Hammers midfielder:
“He did not get into the game at all, the centre of the field did not work for the Czech team. He didn’t wake up even after the break.”
Tomas Soucek not good enough for West Ham
Soucek was very poor for the Czech Republic, but his overall display didn’t shock me at all – it’s what we’ve been watching him do for the last 12-18 months.
Sure, he pops up with the odd goal here and there, but his all-round contribution for West Ham just hasn’t been good enough.
And it seems as though it was the same story for Soucek with the national team on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old is one of the worst midfielders in the Premier League technically. When he receives the ball in the middle of the park he looks lost, and he it’s incredibly frustrating how much he slows down our play in transition.
He is unable to pass the ball like a top level footballer should be able to, and I cannot envisage a scenario whereby he will play a key role under Julen Lopetegui at West Ham.
His performance for the Czech Republic against Georgia further highlighted just how poor and ineffective he is aside from winning aerial duels.
I believe Tomas Soucek will leave West Ham at the end of this season. The 29-year-old has been a great servant for us, but his time at the highest level has come to an end now.
