Hammers hopes of crucial win could be boosted by Wolves blow

Depending on results elsewhere, victory could put David Moyes’s side into that last Champions League spot with eight games left.

And West Ham’s chances look to have been boosted by a number of injury concerns in the Wolves camp following the international break.

According to Wolves boss Nuno, many of internationals returned to training this week carrying injuries – including key man Joao Moutinho (Wolves website).

“It was an injury that didn’t allow him (Moutinho) to play with Portugal,” Nuno told the press ahead of the game (Wolves website).

Wolves hit by several injury concerns including key man Moutinho

“It’s still being assessed, let’s wait. It was at the beginning of the first game, he only made 45 minutes and was not able to continue for the second-half. Since then, he’s not been training as normal, he didn’t join the group yet, but he’s improving.

“We have some issues.

“We still have a couple of days, but some of the players, like Joao (Moutinho) and many others have returned with small problems that are always normal due to the international break, the travelling, all these disruptions, but we have a couple of days to assess and decide for Monday.”

Clean bill of health for Moyes as stars return

The news will come as a boost for Moyes who looks to have a clean bill of health.

Star defender Angelo Ogbonna is still out.

But Pablo Fornals is back fit while Arthur Masuaku and Ryan Fredericks could also both return to the squad.

And key quartet Declan Rice, Jesse Lingard, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal have returned from international duty unscathed.
