West Ham starlet Mesaque Dju will miss a large chunk of the season through injury. According to Football London’s West Ham correspondent Sam Inkersole, Dju has suffered a posterior cruciate ligament strain.
The young winger could be out for about four months now after he was pictured on crutches. Surgery is not required but he will still be out until the end of 2019 with this injury. It is a similar injury to the one Manuel Lanzini suffered. Both are knee injuries but Lanzini’s was the more serious anterior cruciate ligament.
Mesaque Dju: Can he bounce back this season?

Dju’s hopes of breaking into the West Ham first-team early in the season have faded. The Portugal U20 starlet has come off the bench three times in the first three games for the U23 team this season.
But he was only on the pitch a matter of minutes against Reading before suffering this injury. He was replaced by Anthony Scully and he is now out for a lengthy period of time.
The ex-Benfica winger will be hoping to bounce back and return a better player. His task will be to regain a spot in the U23 team and then perhaps push on for first-team chances in 2020.
