Pogba out of West Ham game with injury

So while West Ham will believe they can match their illustrious opponents on Tuesday evening, David Moyes will take any advantages he can get his hands on.

And it seems West Ham may get a big boost after Man United’s player of the month for January, Paul Pogba, limped off in the 3-3 draw with Everton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Pogba will be sent for a scan (ManUnited.com).

Even if Pogba’s injury is not serious, the quick turnaround between now and Tuesday night’s FA Cup clash mean the Frenchman will not be ready regardless.

There was a chance Pogba may have been rested for the game against West Ham anyway.

Red Devils have other options and West Ham may have problems of their own

And the Red Devils do have a host of options in central midfield.

But it is certainly a positive for West Ham given Pogba’s form and growing influence on the team.

West Ham have their own concerns going into the FA Cup clash.

Michail Antonio was substituted with ‘fatigue’ in the draw at Fulham. And Tomas Soucek will miss out if his red card is upheld.

And Jesse Lingard is cup tied having played for Man United against Watford in the last round.

Hammers must make memorable season count for something

But after 41 years without a major trophy West Ham have to do everything to try and make the most of wide open seasons like this. Especially given they have such a strong side and team spirit.

A trip to Old Trafford is never easy. But West Ham showed they can outplay Man United in the league game earlier this season.

The Hammers were by far the better side for an hour.

But the ridiculous decision to allow Pogba’s equaliser to stand when the ball had clearly gone out of play in the build-up turned the game on its head.
