Now more than ever, due to major injuries, the creative influence of Zarate will be under scrutiny. It is important to remember how far he was come since last year. Sam Allardyce never rated him that is very clear for everyone to see and the most obvious example of this was him being sent on loan to QPR. However, now under Bilic’s guidance he is starting to be a fantastic player.
Typically this season when he’s started he has scored goal and the few he has got so far have been brilliant. He may have not been praised as much as the likes of Lanzini, Payet, Moses and Sakho but being without them for a long period of time, it’s really time for him to shine. What all fans want to see from him is to be a bit more consistent, alongside being more clinical finishing and passing the ball more. He was started to develop a great relationship with the other attacking players and now he has to start to do with that with Andy Carroll and Antonio.
There is no doubt that he has a large amount of quality and looks a lot stronger on the pitch than this time last year, he had two amazing chances against Manchester United that he really should of scored with ease but we had to settle for the draw. As they approach a busy Christmas period, himself and hopefully Enner Valencia have to prove themselves and fill the boots of the four attacking players our season has been based around so far.
If he starts to improve even more, Enner Valencia returns and Antonio keeps playing when we should be able to get through the festive period and await the return on the others players that pick the team spirit up.
