West Ham midfielder Carlos Sanchez has returned to training after nearly seven months out with a serious knee injury.
Sanchez underwent surgery on a knee injury sustained during September’s 8-0 win over Macclesfield Town.
The Colombia international only joined West Ham in the summer transfer window and was injured in his sixth game for the club.
After six-and-a-half months on the sidelines, Sanchez was captured by the club’s photographer in first-team training with his West Ham team-mates.
Carlos Sanchez ‘happy to be back’
Whether Sanchez will be fit enough to return before the end of the season remains to be seen and he might be held back for next year.

Manuel Pellegrini is not keen to rush players back and Sanchez will still need to build his fitness up with regular training.
After pictures emerged of Sanchez back in training and after his tweet, here are some tweets from West Ham fans.

The final piece of the jigsaw. Can’t wait for him, Noble and Obiang lolloping around in a midfield 3.
