West Ham get major boost ahead of Man United clash

And their chances have surely been boosted after Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed a SEVENTH first team star will now miss Sunday’s game against West Ham.

Anthony Martial is the latest to join a growing injury list to face West Ham.

And Solskjaer admitted after Man United’s 1-1 Europa League draw with Milan that the French forward, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani will now all miss the West Ham game.

That adds to an injury list that already includes Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Donny van de Beek and David de Gea.

“Anthony got a whack on his hip, so there’s another forward we need to scan and look at,” Solskjaer told reporters after the game (Sky Sports).

“I desperately hope Marcus is back for next Thursday in Milan, I’m not sure he’s going to make Sunday. Fingers crossed because we’ll need him.

“Edinson I don’t think can be ready for Sunday.”

Winning trophies is a must at Man United. So Solskjaer will now have to decide whether he also rests other key stars against West Ham with one eye on the return leg in Milan.

Moyes must abandon defensive blueprint against depleted Red Devils

Moyes will surely now look to try and take the game to the Red Devils. Rather than stick to the overly cautious blueprint West Ham have adopted against top sides this season.

Many believe West Ham will play the wingback system at Old Trafford, like they did in the FA Cup.

But West Ham can get more attack minded options in their side when they play a four.

The Hammers will be without loan star Jesse Lingard for the match. He is not allowed to play against his parent club as per Premier League rules.

West Ham have proved they are a match for the likes of a fully fit Man United this season. Let alone one missing seven first team stars.
