Nayef Aguerd posts Twitter message after undergoing ankle surgery

Nayef Aguerd has taken to Twitter after the West Ham United defender underwent successful surgery on his ankle.

Aguerd moved to the London Stadium from Rennes for around £30 million back in June (Fabrizio Romano).

The 26-year-old arrived with a big reputation and he looked very good during the early stages of pre-season until the unthinkable happened last week.

Aguerd suffered a nasty looking ankle injury during West Ham’s clash with Rangers at Ibrox and was carried off the pitch.

The Hammers confirmed that the defender underwent successful surgery a couple of days ago to fix his damaged ankle.

Getting the former Rennes ace back to full fitness as soon as possible will be absolutely vital for David Moyes.

Aguerd is a truly elite centre-back and the fact that he’s left-footed will enable Kurt Zouma to move back to his preferred right centre-back position.

There have been rumours that Nayef will be out injured until after the World Cup this winter. Let’s hope that’s not the case and send all of our positive vibes to the Moroccan.

Aguerd took to Twitter yesterday and posted a message after the procedure on his ankle:

It’s good to see that Nayef Aguerd seems to be in such good spirits.

Suffering such a serious injury having just moved to a new club would surely have been devastating for him.

Hopefully he returns to action stronger than he was before he suffered the injury.

West Ham need Nayef Aguerd back in the team as soon as possible. Hopefully it won’t be too long before the Moroccan is wearing the famous Claret and Blue once again.
