West Ham United striker Michail Antonio loves playing against rivals Tottenham Hotspur and it seems he will do just that this weekend.

That’s if an update from West Ham insiders Claret & Hugh is anything to go by.

West Ham’s only senior striker has missed the last two games after being withdrawn in the 0-0 draw at Fulham suffering ‘fatigue’.

Hammers fans were suspicious of that claim given Antonio’s wretched history of hamstring injuries.

The forward has only ever played more than 25 games in a season once in his career.

And he will be hard pressed to end that record this campaign.

West Ham boss David Moyes admitted after the Sheffield United game he was ‘hopeful’ Antonio would be fit for the big clash with Spurs.

“Micky is really important to us and we hope to get him back,” Moyes said in his post match press conference (Football London).

Moyes hopeful rather than certain over Antonio availability for Spurs

“It wasn’t a risk to play him but he is in a position where something could happen. Hope he is fine for Sunday but no promises.”

But now West Ham insiders Claret & Hugh claim Antonio is ‘nailed on’ for Sunday’s tussle with Jose Mourinho’s Spurs.

West Ham fans will be hugely relieved at the welcome news. But Claret & Hugh also claim Moyes could elect to start the striker on the bench.

“Michail Antonio is fully expected to be fit and available for the game against Spurs on Sunday lunchtime,” Claret & Hugh claim.

Insider claims striker is ‘nailed on’ to face Tottenham

“We have learned that Mikey was within a hair’s breadth of playing (against Sheffield United) but continued to feel mild tightness in the hamstring.

“However, his involvement against Spurs looks nailed on although Moysie may spring a surprise and start him on the bench given the success of Jarrod Bowen and Jesse Lingard up front last night.”

A win for West Ham over Spurs would consolidate their place in the European mix and put them nine points ahead of their London rivals.

Victory for Mourinho’s out of sorts visitors would cut the gap to just three points.

So it really is the proverbial ‘six-pointer’ when it comes to the race for the European places.
