Injury-prone West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere is back in training.
Wilshere has been out since October with some more injury problems. He has been forced to sit out of the last five Premier League matches but he could be back for midweek.
West Ham travel to Wolves in the midweek Premier League clash. Manuel Pellegrini’s options could be boosted if Wilshere is declared fit. He was pictured in first-team training on Tuesday afternoon by the club’s official cameras.
What next for Jack Wilshere?
In Wilshere’s absence, West Ham have been poor. He missed the home draw against Sheffield United and three consecutive losses while he was out injured.
But the 27-year-old could make his return for the game after a big win. West Ham picked up a morale-boosting three points at Stamford Bridge with a 1-0 win over Chelsea.
There are no guarantees over game time when Wilshere is back to full fitness. Given his injury record, Pellegrini will be in no need to rush him back. And he has to show that he has earned a place in the side.
It has been a frustrating spell for Wilshere, who was hoping for a fresh break after his summer 2018 move from Arsenal. But injuries have predictably held him back and West Ham are still yet to see him at his best.
