West Ham star Aaron Cresswell is touch and go for Wednesday’s important game against Brighton according to an insider and calls grow to drop duo.

The Hammers go into the game off the back of rare consecutive Premier League defeats.

West Ham have been beaten by Wolves and Man City, the first time the Hammers have lost back-to-back games since April.

The last time it happened – in defeats to Newcastle and Chelsea – it effectively cost West Ham a top four place during the run-in.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

This time – with a third of the season gone – it threatens their place in the top four again with Arsenal now level on points with Moyes’s boys.

Brighton have become West Ham’s bogey side since their promotion to the Prem.

And Graham Potter has turned them into a strong outfit.

West Ham have not looked the same side since losing Angelo Ogbonna to a season-ending ACL injury.

So it will concern West Ham fans that another key player and leader, Aaron Cresswell, is touch and go for Brighton.

That’s according to insiders Claret and Hugh, who claim Cresswell faces a late fitness test on a back injury he sustained after a painful collision with a post as he slid in to stop a certain goal against City.

Insider says West Ham star Aaron Cresswell is touch and go for Brighton as calls grow to drop duo

“Aaron Cresswell is expected to face a late fitness test on his injured back ahead of the game against Brighton and Hove Albion at the London Stadium on Wednesday evening,” Claret and Hugh state.

“The Seagulls arrive without a win in nine games – seven draws and two defeats – and although the left back is expected to be OK, the manager will take no chances.”

Elsewhere in the team there are growing calls among some West Ham fans for Moyes to drop duo Ben Johnson and Said Benrahma for Brighton.

Young star Johnson was a revelation before the international break, keeping Vladimir Coufal out of the side.

But while he has not been West Ham’s worst player by any means in the recent defeats, many feel he does not offer the same attacking threat and crucial overlap as Coufal.

Benrahma has been poor too in a number of games of late being subbed off against Aston Villa, Wolves and Man City.

What Benrahma said to Moyes when he was taken off at the Etihad will be a concern for West Ham.

But given Manuel Lanzini’s impressive cameos and the fact Moyes singled the Argentine out for praise, many supporters have called on him to start against Brighton.

Ironically Cresswell being touch and go could mean that Johnson keeps his place but is shifted over to left-back to deputise for the Liverpudlian.

Moyes is starting to see his squad being stretched ever so slightly now.

It’s going to be a tough month ahead.
