West Ham duo Felipe Anderson and Jack Wilshere will both undergo scans on their respective injuries tomorrow. Reliable insider EXWHUEmployee has told his followers that West Ham will find out the extent of these injuries tomorrow.
Robert Snodgrass replaced on 56 minutes and Anderson limped off 10 minutes later. West Ham were thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City at home and the injury news will be a further blow if either player is out for a lengthy period.
West Ham need more injury luck
West Ham’s injury curse was in full swing last season, hampering any progress with multiple injuries to key players. If either Anderson or Wilshere (or both) are ruled out, it will be a frustrating and familiar story for Hammers fans.
Anderson has told whufc.com that he has only sustained a “small injury” so it might not be too serious. West Ham will need the Brazilian winger to provide some magic to lift the club off the bottom of the table.
Wilshere missed most of last season through injury. If the injury is serious, it will be a disappointing blow for both the player and the fans. The left-footed midfielder was arguably West Ham’s best player in pre-season so Manuel Pellegrini’s plans will be scuppered by any injury blows.
West Ham will have their fingers crossed tomorrow. The results of these scans could dictate how successful West Ham will be this season. Thankfully, EXWHUEmployee added (in a later tweet) that both players should be fine.
Wilshire and Anderson should be fine for next weekend. Wilshire was apparently taken off for tactical reasons and they wanted to manage him because of previous injuries. Anderson wanted to come back on. They will be checked out on Monday but should be ok for the weekend
