West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini has thanked West Ham fans for their ongoing support during his injury.
He has told West Ham’s official website that he is progressing well and would like to thank Hammers fans.
Lanzini expects to miss most of the season with an ACL injury but has returned to Rush Green for his rehabilitation.
The injury
The Argentina international was preparing to represent his country at the World Cup. But just six days prior to the start of the tournament, he was struck with a serious knee injury.

Lanzini had torn the ACL in his right knee and the initial concerns were that he would miss the whole of the 2018/19 season.
However, the attacking midfielder has been in Barcelona undergoing surgery and rehabilitation. After three months in Spain, he has returned to Rush Green, where he will continue his comeback.
Lanzini on his recovery
Lanzini expressed his joy at being back at West Ham. He told the official website: “I missed West Ham, I missed the players, all the West Ham staff and the training ground, so I’m happy to be back.
“Now, I am feeling good. It was very hard when my knee was broken before the World Cup but now I am thinking of the future and now I am happy.”
The 25-year-old is now working on the bike with the balance trainer as he continues to strengthen his knee.
He said: “My knee is feeling very comfortable and stable and this is very important. I am taking things day by day and I am feeling good, comfortable and stable and I am ready to keep going like this and we will see.”
Looking ahead to returning to first-team action, Lanzini cannot wait. But he knows that he has to be patient.

The Argentinian midfielder added: “I think about this every day. I want to be on the pitch as quickly as possible, but I also know that the injury was bad so I need to stay calm and take things day by day. We will see what happens in the future.”
Lanzini on West Ham fans
Lanzini has always been a fans’ favourite in East London and he has heaped praise on West Ham supporters.
The “Little Jewel” has been touched by the ongoing support shown to him by the Hammers fans during a tough time for him.

“I’ve been at this club for three years and they were always good with me and I want to be back quickly and play for West Ham.”

West Ham fans will be eager to see their star midfielder back in action soon. The club could do with his creative talent at the moment.
