Manuel Pellegrini shared some positive injury news in his pre-match press conference, West Ham’s official website has confirmed.

West Ham duo Fabian Balbuena and Aaron Cresswell are both fit to make the trip to Cardiff City. Meanwhile, Manuel Lanzini is still fit and Jack Wilshere is ruled out.

Balbuena has been out since before Christmas but he could finally make his long-awaited comeback in this weekend’s trip to South Wales.

The Paraguay international was a vital part of West Ham’s defence before his injury but he has been missing for more than two months.

However, after returning to training, the 27-year-old came through 45 minutes for the under-23 team and he is now ready for a first-team return.

But whether he can oust in-form duo Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna is another matter.

Aaron Cresswell

Cresswell is also fit after suffering concussion in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United.

The 29-year-old had to be replaced by Arthur Masuaku in the first half and there were fears that he would miss the Cardiff game.

But Pellegrini confirmed that Cresswell has been with the team for the last two days and will travel to Cardiff.

The rest

Winston Reid, Carlos Sanchez and Andriy Yarmolenko remain sidelined for the long-term. Wilshere joins them in missing out this week.
